Hey again 👋🏻 If you ended up here, you're probably trying out CoolGorilla — my little image viewer for photographers.

I built it because culling thousands of shots after a long shoot was slowly driving me up the wall. Nothing on the market quite fit the way I wanted to work, so I wrote my own — fast, gentle on the eyes, gets out of your way.

It's free and will stay free. But if it ever saved you an evening of squinting at thumbnails, a small tip keeps me motivated to add the next feature on my list. ☕

Windows SmartScreen may say the publisher is unknown — I haven't bought a code-signing certificate yet, so it flags it. It's safe: click “More info” → “Run anyway.”

First launch: right-click the app → Open. If macOS instead says it's “damaged,” don't worry — that's just Apple's quarantine flag, the app is fine. Clear it once: open Terminal (⌘-Space → “Terminal”), type xattr -cr then a space, drag the app onto the Terminal window, and press Enter. Now open it normally. Pick the build for your Mac:

The AppImage needs no install. After downloading, make it executable — chmod +x CoolGorilla-x86_64.AppImage (or right-click → Properties → Allow executing) — then double-click to run.
